Introduction
- As parents or caregivers, adolescence is often seen as a time of rebellion and deviation. This workshop on adolescents aims to enhance the participant’s understanding on the psychological and spiritual needs of this generation of young people.
- It hopes to help parents and caregivers see adolescence as a stage of development that needs their support, love and understanding.
- The workshop strives to provide participants with some handles to walk with their child/care through this teenage years’ “forest” into adulthood; giving them “roots” and at the same time “wings”.
Objectives
- Understand the important psychological and spiritual needs during the adolescence development stages.
- Learn about attachment and importance of early parent-child care.
- Recognize some of the nurturing factors towards the healthy development of the child.
Target audience
Parents, caregivers, lay helpers working with children and the youth, and those interested to learn more about adolescence development.

Rosanne Voon
Rosanne Voon
Rosanne graduated with her Bachelor’s in Education (TESL) from University Putra Malaysia and her Masters in Christian Counselling from Torch Trinity Graduate University, Seoul, South Korea. Prior to joining the counselling world, she worked as a secondary school teacher for 5 years. Currently, she divides her time between therapy work with clients and teaching English and Counselling courses. In church, she is very involved in ministry and has served in the youth, children’s, college and young adults ministries and worship ministry. During her years teaching and serving, she developed a great curiosity for people’s stories and seeing how God is weaving His story and purposes in them. She is passionate about helping people live transformed lives through biblical truths and emotional awareness and advocating for mental health amongst Christians.
