Suicide
Every 40 seconds, someone dies by suicide worldwide.
In Malaysia, 1 in 10 youths experience depressive ideation, and 1 in 10 face suicidal thoughts. Alarmingly, 1 in 5 Malaysian adolescents have seriously considered suicide — double the rate a decade ago.
A silent mental health crisis is unfolding, and the Church must respond with truth, compassion, and hope.

Special Highlight:
– Learn how today’s academic pressure, cyberbullying, and family disconnection are fueling a mental health crisis among youth — and how we as believers can step in to offer real support.
Let’s stand in the gap and bring the light of Christ to those in the shadows

Objectives:
– Bust common myths about suicide with truth and compassion.
– Learn to recognize warning signs and respond with confidence.
– Explore how faith, Scripture, and community can bring real hope.
– Develop practical skills in compassionate conversations and safety planning.
– Understand how to support survivors with Christ-like empathy.

Target audience:
Christian lay helpers, leaders, and volunteers to recognize suicide risk, intervene wisely, and minister to those in need through a faith-centered lens.
