We never know when we will experience the loss of a loved one. Or someone we know suffers a loss and needs comfort. The ensuing grief can be overwhelming and often, we find ourselves inadequate as to what to say or do. This seminar will equip you with an easy and effective approach on how to comfort those who mourn from the Christian counselling perspective by integrating psychology and theology.
Workshop objectives:
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
● Understand the nature and models of grief
● Learn and apply the TIME Approach
● Know what to say and what not to say
● Be aware of the do’s and don’ts
● Be able to help the children to grieve

Dr. Edmund Ng
Dr. Edmund Ng
Dr. Edmund Ng is a licensed psychotherapist, author, and trainer. He specializes in personality disorders, grief therapy, and issues of sin and shame. He is qualified in theology (Wales), psychology (Australia), and thanatology (grief therapy) from the USA. He is one of only 3 Asians accredited as a Fellow of the Association of Death Education and Counseling, USA. Both Edmund and his present wife Pauline have experienced first-hand the deep pain and loneliness of suddenly losing their respective spouses. As a couple, Edmund and Pauline have since 2007 counseled and journeyed alongside hundreds of bereaved persons, both on a one-on-one basis and collectively in Grief Support Groups. They have also trained up a volunteer core team of caregivers who have themselves journeyed through their own losses. Edmund is also the Founding President of both NACC and the Asian Christian Counselors Association. He has published several Christian books and journal papers. One of his earliest books is The TIME Approach to Grief Support (2011, Winepress) now available through Amazon.com.

Sexual orientation refers to an individual’s emotional, romantic and sexual attraction to others. Besides the traditional attraction of opposite genders, sexual orientation now include homosexual, bisexual and asexual.
Many researchers opined that many factors contribute to a person’s sexual orientation including environmental, emotional, hormonal, and biological. As the Bible advocates for heterogenous relationships, this workshop seeks to understand how we can extend love and grace to others of a different sexual orientation without compromising God’s truth.
Target Level
Open to parents, church workers and anyone who wish to understand sexual orientation to help others more effectively.
Objectives
- To understand the development of gender identity and how it impacts sexual orientation.
- To provide a biblical perspective on homosexuality and create a supportive environment where same-sex strugglers can encounter truth and grace.
- To equip participants with a framework on how to connect with strugglers and see them restored to personal dignity and relational wholeness.

Rev. Tryphena Law is an ordained Assemblies of God minister under the spiritual covering of Glad Tidings Petaling Jaya and Executive Director of PLUC Events Sdn Bhd, leading initiatives in pastoral counselling and education on gender identity and sexuality in Malaysia. With more than 20 years of experience and a personal journey overcoming same-sex attraction, she offers compassionate, faith-based support to individuals and families. A multilingual and engaging speaker, Tryphena is invited to churches, universities, and events locally and abroad. She holds a Bachelor of Theology from the Bible College of Malaysia and is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry, continuing to guide PLUC’s impactful work in holistic care and community support.
