WHAT: A basic equipping course in counselling skills and knowledge to equip Christians to serve in their local church and society at large
HOW: Attend the following courses:
- Basic Counselling Skills : 8 half-day classes = 16 contact hours
- Family Counseling 4 half-day classes = 8 contact hours
- Life Stages: 4 workshops = 8 hours
- Crisis and Disaster: 3 workshops = 6 hours
- Sexuality & Addiction: 3 workshops = 6 hours
- General Mental Health: 3 workshops = 6 hours
- Counselling Conference: Annual Conference = 10 hours
- Total = 60 hours
Course details*:
- Life Stages deal with understanding spiritual and psychological needs during Childhood, Adolescence, Adulthood, Marriage & Family and Senior Citizens.
- Crisis and Disaster cover Grief Support, Suicide Prevention & Intervention, Psychological First Aid in Trauma Counselling, Community Counselling and Crisis Intervention.
- Sexuality & Addiction cover Sexual Purity, Addictions, Pornography, and Homosexuality.
- General Mental Health consists of training in Palliative Care, Depression, Forgiveness and Spirituality in Counseling, Ethics and Self-care

WHERE: Most of the classes/workshops will be held in NACC Office. However, if a group of churches/pastors’ fellowship were to anchor the event, these trainings can be conducted in their locality, subject to the minimum requirements on the number of participants.
WHEN: Basic Counselling Skills classes are held over 8 Saturday mornings over a 2 month period. Workshops are conducted once in 2 months on a Saturday mornings. Intensive weekend workshops can be arranged for outstation churches.
HOW MUCH:
- Workshops are priced at RM40 for members and RM80 for non-members.
- The 16 hour Basic Counselling Skills course is priced at RM400 for members and RM800 for non-members.
- The Family Counselling Course is priced at RM200 for members and RM400 for non members.
HOW LONG: This certificate course can be done between two to three years.
WHAT ELSE: This 60 hour certificate is recognized as transfer credits for entry into accredited courses at most Malaysian seminaries.
