Our Ministry to Churches, Christians and Community

SUPPORT

Care for Pastors Program

While pastors put their heart and soul to fulfill their God-given mandate in caring for others, some may not be aware of some psychological hazards in pastoral ministry which could affect their ministry’s effectiveness. According to a national survey conducted in 2012, 96% of Malaysian church leaders had high scores in secondary traumatic stress and 74.3% had average burnout scores.

The results may mean that many of our church leaders might be experiencing the effects of these psychological malaise such as moodiness, depression, anxiety and anger outbursts which affect not only their ministry but also their relationships with family members and church staff. One Christian psychologist aptly said, “ When helping you is hurting me”
